Having reached our initial target, our focus is now very much on the logistics of building the school. This has been far from easy, particularly as our architect is based in Accra. However, we have managed to acquire land in an area near where the current school is situated. The new site is also near to where many of the kids stay, in some of the most deprived areas of the capital. Plans are still being finalised for the new building, as we are keen to ensure that we get the best value for the money we've raised, but also provide the kids with a positive learning environment.
We are still raising funds, on a fairly low-key basis. See events for our recent and upcoming fundraising projects.
The team hope to send someone out to Accra this summer in order to liaise more closely with our contacts in Accra and to kick-start the build.
